Mount Bromo is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia. The mountain which has an altitude of 2,392 meters above sea level is a mainstay destination for East Java. Mount Bromo stands proudly surrounded by a caldera or sea of sand covering an area of 10 square kilometers.

Mount Bromo is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area where tourists can visit other destinations such as Mount Semeru, Mount Tengger, Mount Batok, and of course Mount Bromo.
Administratively, Mount Bromo is included in 4 districts, namely Probolinggo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency.
There is an alternative to reach Mount Bromo by land, namely by transit in Malang City. The route taken is Malang-Overlapping-Gubuklakah-Ngandas-Jemplang-Bromo. Estimated travel time is 2.5 hours drive. However, if you choose this route, be prepared to find the terrain quite steep.
When you arrive at Mount Bromo, chances are you will be below 10 degrees Celsius. So make sure you have prepared a thick jacket, scarf, and gloves. Also make sure you have packed glasses and a mask to protect your face.
For your convenience in exploring Mount Bromo, it's better if you wear boots or hiking shoes instead of using regular sneakers. Avoid using sandals because the terrain you will encounter has rocky and steep contours.
